Also referred to as St. Mary's Parochial School and St. Mary's Church of England School. The Infants' School became a separate department on 1 May 1874 (Head Teacher Miss E.L. Taffo). The earliest log book dates from 1863 (although the school was possibly built in 1860) and covers the Girls' and Infants' Departments. The school was situated on Military Road (close to where Chatham Town Hall was later built).
