Built in 1788 on Brompton Garden, John Wesley preached at this church soon after it opened. By 1810 it required an extension due to the growing congregation. A detached Sunday School (built in 1818) stood at the rear of the building. The society was Wesleyan Methodist and had emerged from a split with the Bible Christians who worshipped at Park Road, later called Marlborough Road. The original Manor Street chapel was sold to the Catholic Church in 1892, and the congregation moved to new premises at Prospect Row. In the early 1900s it merged with the Chatham Mission (Garrison Church), and the Prospect Row chapel continued to be used until just after the First World War. The building is no longer there.
