- Administrative history / biographyIn 1851 two cottages were purchased from George Gifford on Gad's Hill, on the corner of Waterside Lane, and a small Bible Christian Zion Chapel was built alongside, opening the following year. It was extended in 1905 and remained open until 1962, when it was compulsorily purchased by Gillingham Borough Council as part of a road-widening scheme. The congregation combined with that of Christmas Street, Gillingham, and the new society of St. Andrew's Church was established (see M5/2/Bh).
