Established in 1810, replacing the chapel which had stood opposite since 1770 (see M5/2/Da). The chapel was part of the Wesleyan Methodist Rochester Circuit until the national inauguration of the Methodist Church in 1932. In around 1945 it transferred to the Chatham Central Hall Circuit, where the chapel remained until its last service took place in 1951.
